While we try our best to stay aware of what is on the road ahead of us, there are always surprises that you can't quite prepare for. Hydroplaning is something that often comes out of nowhere. Luckily, there are some steps that you can take in order to stay safe if there is a lot of rain happening in your area or if the rain has just stopped.

  • Drive in a lower gear if you see that there is a lot of water pooling up on the road.
  • Try to drive along in the same tire track pattern as the vehicle that is directly in front of you.
  • Make sure you are rotating your tires regularly as part of your routine maintenance schedule.
  • Keep an eye on your tire pressure levels. Even if your vehicle doesn't alert you of a problem, check regularly yourself.
